There's a difference between being scared and using force when it is needed. I have enough experience to recognize a threat where you see none. I do remember when I was in my twenties and younger that I felt invincible and was utterly fearless. Then as I reach my 30's and then 40's, I had built up a base of experiences that taught me to recognize threats. Same thing goes with history and politics. The more I read, the more I recognize when an ideology has matured from a simply bizarre minority to one that becomes a global threat. Hitler's was one and fundamentalist Islam is another. I'm not sure why you don't see it that way, but that's your prerogative. For those who do see it as a major threat, we know that this type of problem has to be confronted with the gloves completely off. There can be no compromise with something like this or the people who support it.
