Your argument, if I understood it correctly, would involve not increasing the weight of the wealthy pocket books but putting more money into the hands of spenders--middle class tax cuts and keeping middle class benefits strong.

The Laffer curve increases tax revenue by lowering the taxes on the producers. They pay 80% of the taxes in the country today. The tremendous increase in tax revenue this year has come from people who pay quarterlies. They are paying more because they had more to invest in their businesses and other businesses. C2 thinks it is coming from overseas redemption, but the articles I have read say this is not the case.

Democrats will not accept the Laffer curve because it is based on letting well off people keep more of their income. The left's whole approach is that we should "soak the rich." They can't comprehend that when you take a rich man down, you take 100 poor men with him.

Well John....(first,welcome back!) in response to: As we both know, the bulk of those went to them what has. ..

Don't know why you Liberals always forget to mention that many, if not most, of the wealthy top income people in the country are Liberals....

Bill Gates Sr.
Bill Gates Jr.
Paul Allen
Warren Buffett
These four are in the top 10 wealthiest in the world...

Don't forget Liberal Hollywood when one is counting wealthy people...

and of course, don't forget people like Teddy Kennedy, George Soros and John Kerry...just to name a few.

All you have to do is look at the Forbes top 500 wealthy, and you can count for yourself just how many are Repubs and how are Democrats...

Nearly all, if not all, of them have foundations....non profit non taxable foundations.....

It truly would be interesting to see exactly how much all of the top 500 wealthy pay in Federal Income Tax....

And it would be interesting to see how many people these folks provide employment to....
