This Asian looking guy emerged from an apartment building which was under surveillance for being related to terrorist operations. He was wearing a heavily padded coat in the middle of summer. When told to stop by police (on the afternoon of the 2nd bombing) he behaved erratically and then ran like hell to a subway station and jumped on a train. Police in UK don't generally carry firearms, so are probably not as well trained in their usage as in the US. On the afternoon of the 2nd bombing when there were four known bombers loose in London, the police on the scene chose to shoot this guy rather than allow him to do whatever it is he ran on the train to do. Perhaps we will never know the answer, but this is certainly a huge tragedy. It will be interesting to read what comes out of the police report of this event.
