I would presume that they wanted to follow him to see if he might lead them to other perps. Thats what I would have done. When he made that sudden dash to the train even jumping the turnstill you can just imagin what was going through the minds of the pursuing officers, knowing, like you said, they could have stopped him earlier. Plus, I betcha before this is over we are going to learn he wasnt some innocent lily. Too much coincidence that he was living in the thick of the terrorists. jdn
