Are you sure it isn't just NJ beating you up?
Idaho state tax rate stayed the same.
Idaho state sales tax just DROPPED 1% to a very reasonable 5% on July 1.
Our property taxes increased a very reasonable 2% last year...that may increase to 3% this year... again very reasonable. And our average county home value increase for the past 12 months was just reported to be up 27%.


Well over half of our property taxes go for public education. The per student investment in public education in Jersey in 2000 was twice that of Idaho. Roughly $10,000 to $5,000. I'll take that. I consider investment in education a primary one.
