I do the same thing with windows -- tabs bug me because there's always the issue of closing or not closing tabs when you close the window. With multiple windows you don't run the risk of losing your place when you close one. (That is, losing the open windows I've kept open so I can come back to them.)

But I have relatively new computers.

BTW, as you probably know, when you highlight and right click a word to check it in the dictionary, it opens up a tab.

Isn't it funny to see how differently we surf the web. While I'm online I typically have the radio playing in the background, a speech from some event or a video in the upper corner. That may be one reason I use the address bar so often to sites I know the name of without effort.

Currently I'm listening to a real estate show on KVI in Seattle. And just finished watching the President give an economic speech in Detroit.

Ahh, commercial, I'll probably zip over to fox news and catch the video roundups if I can quit typing long enough. ;)

Television is going to take a serious hit once everyone gets high speed access.

I like tabs a lot. I don't do anything with them you couldn't do with separate windows, I guess, but separate windows are more resource intensive than tabs and my computer is a few years old now. It would sometimes spit up when I tried to open more than a handful of windows in IE. It doesn't seem to mind however many tabs I have open.

It's also easer to navigate beween tabs as opposed to separate windows.

What do you use the tabs for?

I use them for things I want to view concurrently.

Thanks for the tutorial. I basically do that by opening new windows. And it's because I forget about tabs. I used them for a while, found, for my uses, they were redundant relative to the bookmarks toolbar. Then, I forget it when I have concurrent uses. That doesn't happen often.

But I'll keep it in mind now.
