Eating an animal dying or dead from Streptococcus -- that's quite stupid and desperate. Even if you don't get infected, the Strep toxin can cause quite a violent immune reaction, commonly known as toxic-shock syndrome. Clearly these Chinese farmers got infected, in addition to eating large quantities of the toxin.

Streptococcus is the type of bacteria which causes tooth decay, tonsillitis, scarlet fever, and some types of pneumonia. A harmless variant of Streptococcus is even used to make sour cream.

There is a Japanese drug called Picibanil, aka OK-432 in research circles, which is a mild Streptococcus killed in a penicillin bath. This injectable drug contains the Strep toxin.

The Japanese use it to cause your immune system to create NK Cells (Natural Killer) to fight cancer. Used alone, the effects are hardly noticeable. When used with Interleukin-2, its like pouring gasoline on the pile of wood before lighting it with the interleukin-2 match.

A profound immune response is an understatement. A lot of cancers just vanish, often with colitis as a side-effect as there's bacteria in your gut which your immune system takes a sudden objection to along with mutant cancer cells.
