I have read The Iron Triangle. I remember it being three months before 9-11. Re-check your source. I gave my copy away. Even if it's 1999 that's shocking. That would mean Carlyle knew the terrorist situation was getting worse and then when GW came into power he disbanded the Al Qaida desk in the WH and suspended all surveillance and investigation of Saudis in the country. The FBI interviews prove this. Why did Bush call off counter-terrorism in early 2001? Why didnt he or Rice even mention terrorism until after 9-11? Rice was going to give a speech on 9-12 on the threats which face us, and her speech had nothing about terrorism in it.
