Reading "Generation Kill" by the embeddeed reporter with the invading Marine Recon platoon, it was clear after the first few DAYS of the invasion to the jarheads on the ground that all those hundreds of Iraqi men with white flags or pretending to cheer them , plus all the ones who left their uniforms behind and blended in, could make for one hell of a problem AFTER the invasion, and that the DOD policy-makers hadn't thought of anything to deal with them. Plus, they didn't have a plan to stop looting, feuding, plundering ammo dumps, you name it. But they did have a clear plan for the oil-fields. Now two years later, we see the huge flaw in Bush-Cheney's thinking. While they served their masters Halliburton and Exxon well, they apparently didn't even think about what else would happen after the invasion. And yes, that the occupation itself would be a huge creator of new terrorist recruits and fulfill Osama's "prophesy".
