Activity around Dawson: Klondike Star is spending $3 million this summer drilling and bulk sampling hardrock claims pretty close to NW's Hunker Creek claims. NW's claims might even be along strike on one of the 3 shear zones Klondike is drilling.
Unlike NW, Klondike is not being all coy and secretive about their geologic model and what they expect to find.

Another company, Boulder Mining, is also spending $3 on its summer exploration program. But they are focusing mostly on placer. Since 99.99% of all the gold the came out of the Klondike (possibly 20 million ounces) was placer, it kind of makes sense to look for more placer, rather than hunt for the elusive 'mother load' that nobody has found even a hint of after 100 years of placer mining.

Boulder is doing a little bit of hard rock work too. They have some quartz pebble conglomerate claims in the area which the seem to interpret as some kind of Wittwatersrand type deposit.
