Formal education was what I was referring to.

My observation was a distinction between education and skill training. Much of what colleges offer now is job training/mechanics. Depending on specialty, many/most doctors are technicians/mechanics. If they're educated, they got it someplace other than their medical training.

I know street thugs who have more "education" than most of the armchair liberals glued to SI every day.

Indeed.

Of course, I know street thugs who have more "education" than most of the armchair liberals glued to SI every day.

It's not surprising that someone who doesn't understand the concept of education (technical training = education?) holds such deep contempt for it.

Bill: I have decided to join you in exile. After some thought, I feel that, by continuing to post here, I imply that I accept the heavy-handed treatment meted out to you this morning. I don't.
