Wasn't it Zarqawi who was imprisoned and tortured in an Egyptian jail?

I think reasons are complex as well as local, political and at the same time a gradual break down into rage and despair of the individual involved (suicide bomber) who over time sees prolonged injustice and are psychologically ready for what ever programming some one come up with..

One thing I don't buy is the glib rationale trotted out every time such as 'they hate us' 'they don't like our way of life' 'because they were tought to hate at relgious schools' etc..

Was the Muslim Brotherhood the group responsible for the assassination of Anwar Sadat or was that a different group?

Is that why the Al Qaeda conducts terror operations in Tunisia, Mali, and Mauritania? I know Al Qaeda terrorizes Algeria but I don't think it is because they are big supporters of the US and Israel.
