Organized resistance by the Iraqi Army was over... There was almost no resistance by the Iraqi Army. Those who warned Dumbya about the stupidity of the war even then said that the war had just begun, even as the dimwit Dumbya was doing the chimp walk on the aircraft carrier. We did in fact find a number of prohibited weapons in Iraq. Of course, a few rusted barrels of chemicals from 10 years ago. Could have been found in any damn part of any damn country. How big of a dumbass would you have to be to think that this statement made any difference??? Nope, it was Dumbya Duh who thought he could scare the insurgents with such tough talk. Of course, the coward was saying it from the comforts of an air-conditioned room in a heavily guarded building.

Sadly, Bushies mis-planned Iraq so badly that when they proclaimed "mission accomplished" (and the troops did deserve great kudos for a daring blitzkrieg) actually just the opposite was true. AFter only several days in-country, the troops on the ground began to get a very sick feeling that the Pentagon planners had totally disregarded the potential for a massive resistance movement. As the troops motored past or through these towns on the way to Baghdad, they left behind scads of former Saddam troops as well as foreign fighters who had just entered the country weeks before the invasion. They also were not ordered to guard or destroy huge ammo dumps or bother closing the borders. There were all kinds of serious threats which were totally ignored. So once they got to Baghdad they were in effect circled by tens of thousands of trained, armed fighters who could blend into the population and start gradually knocking our troops off. Plus tends of thousands more coming in from neighboring countries, including Al Qaida types. Turns out that Bush's invasion and occupation was one of the stupidest military decisions ever made since Troy with the Trojan Horse. In reality, Bush put 150,000 of our troops into a Chinese torture situation, an ultimately unwinnable quagmire.
