I found her muddled. I think it is important, necessary, imperative (whatever word works for you) to condemn suicide attacks, and the folks who support them. (Not that I think that does a bit of good, in terms of convincing the folks who carry out suicide attacks to stop). But I found her choice of words unfortunate, and the perception left after reading the article (imo) was that she was condemning of "Muslims" in general.

it could just be that the previous unwillingness of muslims to come forward has created a type of 'blowback' fear...

meaning they may now be starting to be more fearful of the development of a broader anti-islamic sentiment than the fear of speaking

whatever the reason, i agree with you the critics need to continue increasing in numbers and volume
