Communism, while officially denying existence of God, has quite a lot in common with Christianity (just replace God with "History" or "Science"). As such it can very well be considered a religion and has done quite a lot of killing. I think you need to look to see what most fanatical terrorist groups have in common before you draw conclusions. Then I think you will see that the type of religion per se plays a very small role.

Longest running insurgency in the world right now is a christian one spanning two decades. btw, look at the nations subjugated by western european colonialism. We threw the Brits out a couple hundred years ago. Iraq, which has been a country for less than 100 yrs, just got around to it in the early 20th century. Afghanistan has had it's borders redrawn by the British to suit their needs over and over . The French in Algeria, etc..etc We prop up autocratic regimes because they feed us oil. What other parts of the world experience this kind of b.s. ? and we wonder why there's turmoil, strike and anger towards the west?
