Hillary will bring all of the lefties into alignment. I suspect she will walk away virtually unbloodied in the 2008 nomination.

Clinton was limited in his ability to damage the country by his lack of conviction (in the lack of morals sense, after all he was convicted). Hillary still has every copy of the Methodist socialist magazine published when she was in school. She felt very comfortable lying in her deposition while she was being investigated. She routinely violates every code of ethics she should be bound by.

"Sometimes it's more effective just to step back and what them destroy themselves."

An excellent policy for Iraq!

We shouldn't try to stand in the middle of the civil war, letting both sides take pot shots at us.

Far better to let the civil war resolve itself... while the Islamic world is divided attacking itself (Sunnis against Shi'a) they won't have any energy to attack us.

It's exactly the same policy Reagan and Rumsfeld adopted in the '80s... when our goal was to keep Saddam and Iran fighting each other. (Too bad we wimped out in the end, and switched to backing Saddam. If we hadn't we wouldn't be facing the problems we are now, and many of the troubles in the region would have sorted themselves out by now.)
