"nobody is contesting that a fertilized egg is "alive"." You contested "Human life begins at conception" just a couple of posts back so what are you talking about? Ohhhhhh I see, it Human, it's alive, but it's not a living Human. Now I see. "Exactly. I challenged the use of "HUMAN LIFE" in that sentence. You then changed it to "LIFE". Nobody is contesting that the fertilized egg is alive, just as the egg and the sperm preceding it are alive." I changed "life" to "life" are you OK? I went back and looked I have not "changed anything to my knowledge. ...........................................................Message 21530370 <<<We now now with certainty that Human life begins at conception.>>> "We" don't know any such thing, actually. If your definition of life is "something moving", then wouldn't you say life began way before that, and anyone who discards a used condom should be tried for murder? .............................................................. "The debate is whether or not that fertilized egg is a human being, with the rights and due respect accorded to a human being in the Constitution." I agree "This basic understanding can help you a whole lot in figuring out Roe vs Wade, which says that the word "person" in the Constitution does not involve the unborn, especially since abortion was legal during the time it was written." I suspect Roe says nothing of the sort. It was decided that no point could be determined at which Human Life begins. I have demonstrated conclusively that Human "life" begins at conception. Roe will be overturned. The court has already reversed a similar decision that said Black people were not legal persons I await their further enlightenment. "What I am contesting is your assertion that the fertilized egg is a person, a human being." What is your definition of a Human being?
