There is, of course, no "US abuse of Muslim prisoners in Guantanamo Bay".

Oh, come on, now. Nothing happened that could be construed as abuse if you were on the receiving end? Nothing that could be construed as abuse if the people there were your own kind, not alien to you? Nothing that could be construed as abuse if you felt an inkling of fellow-feeling?

The administration admits that they put as much pressure as they could on the prisoners, short of torture.

"Torture" defined as something leaving a permanent mark.

I am not going to argue that this was completely unnecessary.

But can't you see it from the point of view of Muslims?

If all you can see is your own point of view, what's the point of even talking about their motivations? Just forget about it, it's a complete waste of time. "Kill them all and let God sort them out."

Or, as Kumar says, "an eye for an eye makes the world go blind."

Steyn said: To do that you need not killer cops but an alert citizenry that understands, when you're on a train underground and something funny starts, there's unlikely to be any elite marksmen down there to take care of it. It's up to you.

IMO, one of the biggest dangers of a nanny state, is just that. People are always waiting with their hands out waiting for someone else to "do it"..... We have no one else to blame if we allow the Government to take over every single thing.
