I believe in minimalism, but I acknowledge that its meaning is personally defined. So I don't define it along lines that force a monastic life.

Instead I say that items within your sphere, be it words you write or items you own or procedures you fallow, compete with each other. And so if a line drawn on the paper does not add to the over all beauty of the canvas more than the other lines, then it takes away from them and should not be...this of course is clear to anyone who compares Zen art with other Buddhist arts...think of parallels between the art and life, and you have your answer.
