Perhaps. It's certainly being considered since I rate the more general market-related boards as being on the same level as ticker-specific ones in terms of importance to the site and its success at being a market discussion forum versus a political one. It's for this reason that free members can't post on non-market boards except the Welcome to SI ones. The doors are wide open for them if they want to post about stocks or the market. If they want to post about politics, I'll need to see some plastic, please. There's a small technical challenge in what you propose, especially as it pertains to other things I want to add to SIS, but am confident a workable solution can be implemented. Until I can effect such a solution, though (which could take some time), the only way to rate a particular ticker is to write a post on a board associated with that ticker.
