ah, that was my perception

I think some people are getting the terrorist suicide bombers mixed up with soldiers who risk and lose their lives in battle to trying to save fellow servicemen

the difference is huge

suicide bombers missions are purely to kill themselves and others

recruited by various terrorist cells and groups to use as a destructive and effective weapon

No Greater Love Hath Any Man as This that he gives his life for his friend...

Reminds me of this Tale of Two Cities quote when I read about one sacrificing ones life for another..

Throwing oneself on mines...to save buddies.

Or in WW I where Eddie Murphy stayed behind to allow his comrades to escape and manned a machine gun.

Or Gary Cooper in for Whom the Bells Tolls staying behind with a machine gun to hold off attacking troops.

Great drama and nothing to do with suicide bombers but there is a casual connection.. I cannot figure out whether it's for the Virgins they are promised in the hereafter or for what they see as for the good of the Muslim World. Sacrifice.
