Stephen > I expect to see a revolution in Zimbabwe soon. People will only put up with such behaviour for a certain time

That's why Mugabe is moving them out of the towns to God knows where and destroying their former homes. People living in refugee camps and desperate for food, water and sanitation can't make much of a revolution when it comes to facing a well-fed and well-paid army equipped with the latest Chinese hardware.

Mugabe is a bastard all right but when it comes to brute power he knows what he's doing. Of course, like most people I think that he's completely crazy. Both he and Zimbabwe would have been immensely more powerful and wealthy if he tried the peaceful route. He has an agenda which is impossible to understand unless one views him as a syphilitic with delusions of grandeur and paranoia, which he probably is.
