M, we are short on detail on what happened. He apparently thought it was a good idea to run - maybe the train was pulling in to the station and he wanted to catch it and didn't hear the police.

Remember, police disguised as civilians making threatening movements and noises look like criminals, just as fake guns look like real guns when being waved around.

It's all conjecture. What we can be sure of is that he was not associated with any terrorist threat. We can also be sure that the police didn't just feel vicious and decided to shoot somebody. They blundered.

So, the police obviously have got the wrong idea on what to do in such circumstances.

Obviously, if the dead man had realized what was going on, he wouldn't have been shot. He could have lain down or anything. But panic under threat to one's life makes people do odd things. Police under panic and being armed also do odd things, such as killing people without due care and attention. That's why it's a good idea for people not to be wielding lethal weapons without very high quality control on their use.

Mr Plod bumbled and murdered a civilian. A deliberate killing with no good cause. Of course the guy was guilty of being swarthy and a young male. Also guilty of wearing a jacket. Also guilty [apparently] of fleeing police disguised as civilian thugs. Also guilty of being in a building under surveillance. A judge wouldn't normally execute somebody like that.

I wonder why the police let him on a bus and then into the subway if he was so dangerous.
