I agree that they had the theory that AQ was not so much a corporation, as a bunch of small groups who would just grab on to the umbrella name. That may still be true. These young men in the UK may prove out that hypothesis. We'll just have to see how it unravels.


Who wrote the manuals? who taught the new wanna-bes how to make bombs? Who thought about logistics? Who identified sources of supply?

The McDonalds franchisee is getting more from McDonalds than a name; he's getting a whole system. Ditto for Al Qaeda, it seems.
