Communism was a convenient scapegoat for war profiteering. Terrorism is even more convenient as it is largely amorphous. There was a report about the use of homeland security funds by local governments. One of them used the funds to buy a trailer which was used to haul lawn mowers to the local lawn mower races. Other gov'ts used the funds to buy equipment that no one knows how to use. AmericanFascism is alive and well promoted by the apologists for the Bush administration infesting this thread.
