To the best of my knowledge, Hoffa's dad has never been found. It is widely believed he had ties to the mob, and they were responsible for his death and disappearance. During the Reagan / GHW Bush years, anti corruption rules were promulgated. The Labor department is charged with enforcing them. One of the first acts of the Clinton reign was to order the labor department not to enforce the Beck ruling. His labor Secretary also stopped them from enforcing the rule prohibiting union leadership from be associated with the mob. Unions are now bristling at being forced to provide much more detailed accounting of union expenditures. Members are getting upset at the amount spent to prop up the Democrat party. Many members recognize that Republicans are the party that helps the middle class.
