Well the B1-B lancer carries a larger payload than the B52 and has a top speed 50% faster than the B-52. It is also stealthy.
It's RCS is 1% of the B-52. So clearly there is a heavy bomber with the payload of the B-52 that is stealthy.

And the even the very stealthy B2 can carry 50% more JDAMs than the B52.

It is not obvious to me that the resources of China cannot create a very serious threat to current American air superiority aircraft in coming decades.

Dale Brown the writer would agree, I seldom think about such things anymore. Leaving said thinking to the experts.

There still may be some countries who could start a major war, needing a lesson that unguided 500 lb bombs have been replaced by much more intelligent creations with persistent tracking devices which can seek and destroy.

So keep the Old Dogs around as insurance.
