Roe is the law. I look to correct excesses like Partial Birth abortion but also look to protect the most vulnerable among us. My position is very complicated. In my own life, i am very conservative but i do not want to impose my beliefs on others in the early part of a pregnancy (and with every new medical test becomes earlier).
I will say that every pro life person out there should commit to adopting every unwanted child if they really want to stop all abortions. Any takers for the crack babies? I doubt it so why force the the mother to conceive the child that will not be taken care of? And of course as conservatives we wouldnt want the state to take responsiblity for the unwanted.
Dont worry i am just as hard on pro choice folks(ask my kids pre-grandkids) from the day i heard one so called feminist say that having an abortion is like taking a crap. Thats why the middle on this issue should control the outcome of the debate.
