Mph, "But don't you find that post really amusing?"
Perhaps, somewhat, but mostly I find it unsettling.

cloistered existence that she doesn't realize
how very foolish she sounds. Her "feelies" buds
won't tell her either.........."

Yes, that was my first thought when she mentioned the alleged
"nonfiction" book from a Palestinian.

What a howler.

And add to it she is convinced that the most open,
transparent & democratic gov't in the history of the
planet "feeds us" "propaganda pablum" "about Israel"
(that would be the eeeeeevil, imperialistic US of A).

"I rather feel sorry for G. She's so limited by her multiple biases and cloistered existence that she doesn't realize how very foolish she sounds. Her "feelies" buds won't tell her either"..........

Unfortunately, that's what happens in a groupthink cocoon.

This article says it well (Nice people and the Howling Dog Left)

"The everyday members of the Howling Dog Left are frightened
beyond measure by simple open-minded debate..... If you've
ever tried to debate with a liberal you can see their self-
censorship kicking in as soon as you mention any fact that
doesn't fit their faith. They simply cannot open up to
rational debate. It is too emotionally disturbing."

Dollars to donuts one of the books was The Disinherited by Fawaz Turki:

It is compelling reading for those interested in understanding the traditional Palestinian point of view. I can understand how it would heavily influence a young mind.

Interestingly enough, Turki's views changed dramatically over the next 20 years as his later memoir, Exile's Return: The Making of a Palestinian American, reveals. It appears to be, unfortunately, out of print, but the Amazon review provides a glimpse:
