CLinton would beat Bush 65-35% if they were to run against each other right now. Kerry would also beat Bush handily.

The rightwing smear campaigns against the CLintons were created because of gross jealousy, envy and panic that CLinton was doing such a phenomenal job, especially on the economy. The GOP felt totally irrelevant so they decided they had to do something drastic, like go after Bill's sex life, then make up a lot of extra stuff to load on top of the few scandals they had which were true.

All this after CLinton sincerely reached out to conservatives and even appointed several of them to top jobs. When has Bush ever reached out to anyone bu the far right?

Hillary Clinton is the one the GOP wants to be nominated in 2008. Which is precisely why it won't happen. Hillary may not even run. I don't expect her to actually. She knows better than anyone that she's a huge lightning rod. She's also seen New Hampshire poll showing 65% of Dems there dont want her to run. if she cant win in NH she's a dead duck. More interesting would be if Bill CLinton runs for governor of New York. He would win easily.
