So, I get it.

1) You would rather let that rapist have his way than involve your self and risk your bloody lip.

"and let them sort themselves out."

They will sort it out for themselves after all and you will be safe at home, right?

"...that we will do better when our relations with them are icy, correct, distant and based on a prudent and sober assessment of our own interests.

2) The day of mono-cultures separated by secure borders and oceans is over bub. Are you aware that there are over 7 million Muslims in the USA and that our Muslim immigration pales in comparison to Canada and Mexico. That is only a small example of how things are clashing, changing, enmeshing, and renewing themselves. The trend is going to continue until we are one as a global society, not reverse itself.

Time to get your head out from under the covers (or where ever) and stand up to your responsibility as a man.

Well put. I agree completely.

I think we should get out of Iraq (indeed, out of the Middle East especially including Israel), and let them sort themselves out. There is not one shadow of a doubt in my mind that they will do better without us and with us --- but THAT is not why I think we should clear out. I am even more certain that we will do better without them than with them, that is to say, that we will do better when our relations with them are icy, correct, distant and based on a prudent and sober assessment of our own interests.
