All the great acts of evil in the world have been driven by people who have been convinced they are doing "God's work," or doing it for "the good of the people" or "the good of the state."

That's the problem with an external value system. When you are doing it on an internal value system, on the basis of "what's best for me," you never get to that level of evil.

I doubt that any members of NAMBLA would ascribe any motives to themselves other than insisting on the freedom, and the right, to enjoy sexual pleasure in whatever warped way they choose.
