Do read all your posts here You poor thing. My sympathy, truly. How much Maalox do you need in a day? :-) And I like rubberbans... OKAY. What are "rubberbans"? Rubberbands without the "d"? :-) Automatically expiring bans? Hey, let's ban them or not. None of this "They get to call you an ***hole first!" stuff. Or eliminate bans entirely. Bob and Dave profess to hold these threads and their posters in contempt, anyway? (Bob? Dave? You there? You wanna deny that?) So fine. They can use whatever sorts of bans they want on the stock threads. Let us decide what we want. I see bans as being used these days to create echo chambers so that the other side and their contrary opinions and evidence don't have to be dealt with. They can simply be banned. Then we get Donkey's Inn, "Moderate Thread", "View From the Center", etc. The Left seems more guilty here than the right. JLA surprised me. When he took over PGWB, I expected to see every leftists in site on that ban list; instead it has shrunk. I think he has improved the thread and I applaud his action. I also commend el polvo and Wharf Rat for the good sense and moderation (in the ordinary meaning of the word) they have displayed in running their threads. I have tried to keep the ban list small here, although it is currently larger than I would like. Most of the people made because their intent clearly was simply to tear up the thread or wrap it around themselves. One of the bans may be removed shortly.
