When I was in my last house I let a friend who had moved back from Texas store some things in my basement. I started seeing some roaches around the stove when I'd turn the light on. I didn't use the oven and the daym things had nested in the oven insulation. I turned on the oven to 550 degrees and listened to them scream while being cooked to death. My cruelty still gives me nightmares.

I'll have to search my humble laptop for "The Story of Oscar, the Largest, Meanest Waterbug the World has Ever Known." My then landlord named it that. Trust me, it's a keeper. <g>

i will never forget the first apt. my husband and i had in college....was near a creek....near campus

which of course means 'waterbugs'

egad...the memory of squishing them still makes my stomach churn....<vbg>.
