They are neither friend nor foe. Its an ambivalent relationship currently. We are both capitalist and anti-islamic terrorist. These leaders are dark, much darker than their immediate predesesors. They are very nationalist as are the people. Taiwan as a separate nation will lead to war one day. Taiwan is part of china--the reunification deal has yet to be made and it will be difficult with the current leader of both nations in place. We have enough enemies in the world right now and its better to partner with them as much as we can. Did you see the Rutledge article i posterd earlier?
