Or it means they are finding enough willing landowners to sell hardwoods at $300 an acre or pine at $200. And then turn around and charge a mint for a sheet of plywood or a 2x6.

The last offer made to me on cutting timber was ridiculously low. Hardly worth the effort after you figure in some taxes, cost of replanting, neighbors bitching abot the runoff, and the general destruction a full cut makes.
