I don't know what they use nowadays. Us kids used to run back and forth with the stones. The big ones we put the log chain on. Next spring--all the stones were back! Go figure!

We don't pick stones in the winter because the ice is OVER the stones not UNDER them. But you knew that, I'm sure!
