I am looking at Jan Calls.

Buying, or selling covered...?
I'll be doing the latter [but Feb calls rather than Jan], either 45 or 47.5 - naturally this depends on what the prices are come October when I write the contracts. 47.5 should be very safe, Jan 45's look a bit risky but I think if you do get closed out maybe by a pre-Xmas peak you'd be able to cover and buy back at a profit before expiry.

None of which will stop me casually swing trading, but I'm waiting for the next $2 dip to go long again...

Care to guess on Dell's price in January?>>>

Dell follows the Nas almost exactly for 5 years or for 2 years.

With a consistent late year rally

Would think Dell could do better, but they now will have to expense the options -around the first of the year, I believe.

Unless there is significant news, it would be important to get out before Jan 1 st.

At this time of year Dell should be close to its low.

So I conclude we have some uppage coming.

I will have to get back to you on what stock price to expect.

But generally my preference if buying calls would be the Jan 40 strike, perhaps a bit higher.

I am mostly into the natural gas stocks now, not much Dell.

I buy 50 or 100 shares of Dell now and then, and the interesting part is I have not lost on those buys for 3 years, where I often do on other stocks. (g)

Am not making any progress on that Pat.

Dell, Intc,Orcl,,msft,Csco combined equal the Nas.

So Dell follows the Nas
MM and institutions have control of the prices of those stocks, since they got hold of 1 Bil shares on the last split.

They are holding this rock solid stock and selling CC then moving the price in an illogical direction which drives investors nuts.

How far has Dell's price increased since the last upgrades?

None of this is Michaels fault, its just the way of the far more powerful financial interests who try to, and do, make certain they get a lions share of any profits.

Since I dont know what is planned by these people, the only recommendation I can make on Dell is to try to buy at low on GTC orders.

I am still working in the oil (gas) patch.
If it was not for some trees I could see 7 new gas wells from where I am,within a 2 mile radius.
A new 24 In Dia gas main is located 25 beyond my back fence,
Lines up to 8 in dia are being installed to connect those wells.
