Elroy, evidence of this country's Christian heritage is everywhere. I come from California, and I don't have memory of religious artifacts being everywhere, so I have to disagree. Most I recall were in churches, where they belong. It goes back to the founding of this country. If we are to adhere to a policy of erasing any mention of religion in anything that has to do with government, then we are erasing a very large part of this country's history. Bollocks. I'd say we would be fulfilling the idealogy of separating church and state, and that's a good thing, no matter what the FF's thought (I don't want to get into a debate about it). A pluralistic society should keep the two (public government and personal religion) separate, for obvious reasons. And I'm not all that bent up about it. I've never gone out of my way to remove any religious artifact from any government building, I can't even recall seeing any there, so I don't know who is in a tizzy about it. I'm just saying given the choice of supporting their position or yours, I'll take theirs. How would you react if an atheist governor put "There is no God" in government buildings?
