More broad brush painting. I am amazed at how little some of my conservative (whatever that actually means these days, statists?) friends actually think of other people's political preferences.

Perhaps Jewish people and black people vote Democratic for many many reasons. Perhaps they tend to lean toward socialism in aspects of our society like healthcare? Perhaps they liked the Family Medical Leave Act law pushe through by Democrats and signed by Bill Clinton? Perhaps they are put off by some of the social conservtism and Christian influences on the Republican party? Perhaps they are interested in a more pro-active environmental approach by government? Perhaps they feel the rich get enough breaks in life and the government should be on their side and work for Middle Class interests? Perhaps the fact that avowed racists like David Duke have run as Republicans has turned Jews and blacks off to voting Republican? Perhaps they want more money spent domestically and less on International affairs?

I don't know? There are many many reasons why people vote the way they do. The question could also be asked why working class whites support the Republican party in such strong numbers? A party that has never missed an opportunity to kick the working man in the teeth as they did just last night by pushing through CAFTA that will ship more American jobs overseas and lower our standard of living some more.
