Pravda, Having served during the Cold War and never serving under Reagan, I have to laugh at the idea that he won it. And there were plenty of shots fired in Korea and Nam, which were part of the Cold War. But Dems won WWI and WWII, when the GOP wanted to avoid confrontation in either. Isolationism was their response to Hitler, except for GOP stars like Lindbergh who wanted to give Adolph a helping hand. (To be fair, Joe Kennedy wasn't much better.) Republicrooks surrendered in Korea and Nam. Even Crazy Ronnie, himself, surrendered in Lebanon. He did crush the surfers in Grenada.

The winning of The Cold War started with Truman's Berlin airlift. It ended under the real George Bush. The beginning of the end was Kennedy telling the Germans "Ich bin ein Berliner." Reagan did some horrible stuff to American hostages in Iran, but he did his share or more against The Soviet Union. Still, the handwriting was on the wall after the WWII generation in The Soviet Union died out. Putin is trying to ressurect them, but I doubt he'll be successful.
