And do WHAT? I'm sure they bought many EU assets (stocks) too, like Buffet did in 2002-2004. I'm sure they still are buying. Look at German DAX. In my country, Greece, 45% of stockmarket cap is owned by foreigners. Last year 2004, stock index was +35% here.

I'm sure they're buying US stocks also. And Asian.

Somehow they seem to have gone past gold... Maybe because gold has such a bad history of government confiscation, even in the "free market" USA. Maybe because they don't want to piss Central Banks, which point at gold and yields to "prove" that there's no inflation, LOL.

Hoarding oil and copper, as store of value, might have sounded a better idea for them.

You have to take into account that there are not too many liquid markets capable of "storing" wealth, besides the US and EU capital markets. With relative political stability and rule of law.

PS: What do people think about today's runup in all markets (bonds, stocks and commodities)? Only dollar was down, although not much (-0.5%)
