Actually the Prius has a fairly small battery. The car is designed to recapture most of the braking energy and provide acceleration in addition to the gas motor.. It was never meant to be a "true electric vehicle" but I know some folks who are adding to the existing batteries to give it a range of about 100 miles in city driving.

I do like their technology and they are trying to fill a nitch for the "city driver".

The big weak link in E vehicles is battery capacity. Everything else is pretty mature at this point. (controllers, chargers, electric motors, ect)

Now.... the folks who develop a high capacity, lightweight battery...........

Need I say rich!!
