A case could be made against destruction of property. In fact the perps wore desguises for that very reason. It was extreme behavior that was designed to draw attention to extreme duress.

'Some' terrorists might make the claim that thier extreme behavior is intended to draw attention to their extreme duress as well. However, a terrorist is one who targets an innocent to cause terror in the hearts of others.

I doubt anyone was terrorised by the thought of being forced to buy their tea from annother merchant.

There probably were acts of terrorism during the American Revolution, making it very odd that the Boston Tea Party would be picked as exemplary. In any event, I don't understand the point of bringing up atrocities from history, unless that is somehow supposed to sanction them as acceptable in the present or future. ... Maybe I missed the point.
