He believes in the evangelical Christian church teachings more than he believes Christ's simple teachings. The Gnostics believed that the words and teachings of Jesus were more important than the man. The gospel of Thomas contains their list of the significant ideas of Jesus. The Gnostics were wiped out by the sect which taught that it was Jesus' divinity that was most important. He was a link to the actual god, and what he said was incidental. Emperor Constantine promoted this sect and it became the dominant one. TP
