I have to agree. I think there is a bit of Darwinism at play here. What kind of choice is that? Let's see, I could be late, or I could jump the ticket gate and run for a train in unprecedented security while the nation is reeling from terrorism in the Tube. That's much worse than trying to beat the train across the tracks. You'd probably have better odds with Russian roulette. I'm not saying the kid deserved to die, but in the shoes of those cops, I'd have to do the same.
