Henry, when H5N1 turns to the human variant, people will go nuts killing any bird they see. It will be considered treasonable to have a pet bird or domestic fowl.

That will, of course, be too late. That will be the same as making carrying nail clippers on aircraft illegal and punishable by major prison time AFTER the box-cutters have worked their magic on the Twin Towers. The problems need to be solved and cockpit doors closed BEFORE the problem.

There will never be another box-cutter hijacking because the passengers and crew would go berserk and the hijackers would be defeated in minutes or seconds on their first move. The authorities have imposed a large cost on the public to solve a problem which doesn't now exist.

The problem was that they told everyone to just surrender to hijackers. Now, that's not the case. Problem solved. Passengers and crew will know to fight for their lives in self-defence.
