Berlusconi is the special deal. Just read up about some of his scandals. ONLY in Italy could he survive.

Overall, I consider politics in Europe less dominated by class than politics in the U.S.

As I have stated before, I believe that the Euro is absolutely essential to economic competitiveness. It has very little to do with control. Berlusconi's comments were purely political hoping to garner a few points in the polls.
