it's hard to comprehend, but I think Bush actually may have believed some of the horse manure he spread before the war.

It's not hard to comprehend once you realize how isolated Bush Jr. was (and for the most part, still is). His handlers just let him ride his bike or kick back at Camp David or the Ranch.

Cheney's people would constantly tell not to listen to the news or read any papers because that information was "filtered" and they could give him the real scoop. He's so managed he might as well be a collie dog who can read a teleprompter.
