That debate lasted about 20 minutes and 5 posts.

I think my experiences are representative of a lot of people.
The stores where i shop, restaurants, hotels etc are full so i am not the only one shopping or staying there.

I think the disparity lies in the fact that you focus more on products, where inflation is low and i pay more attention to services, where inflation is high ( medical, education, utilities, skilled trades, travel and leisure )

Yes i am glad that computers, flat panels and dvd players are cheap, but that is only one part of equation. Life is not only about computers and electronics.

For somebody buying a house today, one $3000 mortgage payment will pay for a lifetime of dvd players or computers.
